Jets Interested in Randy Moss

The New York Daily News is reporting that the Jets have a "legitimate interest" in WR Randy Moss and that the team is likely to take a good look at signing him once the lockout is lifted.

There's no doubt that his career is winding down (7 total catches in his last 9 games), so the Jets are probably looking to Moss as a bit of an insurance policy in the likely event that they lose either Braylon Edwards or Santonio Holmes to free agency. Despite being unproductive since leaving New England (393 yards and 5 TDs), the Jets still think Moss offers a vertical threat and his size makes him a particularly nice target in the red zone.

Braylon Edwards has indicated that he wants to stay with the team, even offering to take a pay cut to do so. Either way, there probably isn't enough money there to sign both him and Holmes to long term contracts. A lot can change after the lockout, but this move has a chance.
