He finished just above the 3,000 yard mark in '09 and '10, playing only 14 games in each season. So what is Seattle's succession plan? Charlie Whitehurst is still in the running. Beyond that they'll have to look at free agents and trades. O'Neil threw out the name Tarvaris Jackson and ESPN is reporting that Seattle is ready to make a deal with him - which sounds dicey to me. Jackson was never able to take charge in Minnesota. Despite a lot of chances, he never progressed into the role of a starting quarterback during his tenure. Heck, last season the Vikings opted to go with Joe Webb down the stretch instead. I have trouble believing that the Seahawks are pinning their hopes on this guy. We'll have to see how much Seattle's going to pay him and keep watching in case their intention is to invest in more than one QB and hoping the right starter will emerge. Fantasy Outlook: The loss of Matt Hasselbeck means that you have to devalue Seattle's receiving corps. Players like Mike Williams and Ben Obomanu will take a hit without Hasselbeck at the helm. Hasselbeck is one of the most important dominoes in this free agent frenzy. We can't wait to see how all of them fall. Sources: Seattle Times, ESPN |
