Plaxico Returns to New York But Not to the Giants

After all the speculation and guessing games, Plaxico Burress is actually returning to New York. However, he won't be rejoining his former Giants teammates because the deal he signed was with the Jets, giving Rex Ryan another piece that he hopes will make a difference as they make another push for the Super Bowl.

Burress hasn't played since his own Super Bowl winning touchdown in 2008 with the Giants. His career took an abrupt turn when he accidentally shot himself in a New York City club, an incident which resulted in prison time.

Plaxico joins a roster which is currently headlined by the receiving corp of Santonio Holmes, Jerricho Cotchery, and Tight End Dustin Keller.

Fantasy Outlook:
Burress is now 34 years old and we haven't seen him for a long time, so we're still waiting to find out exactly what kind of shape he's in. Odds are good that he's lost a step, but the fact remains that he is 6' 5" tall and a viable red zone target.

He's a player that comes with some upside and some risk. You have to target him for the right role. Don't draft him onto your roster expecting him to be a weekly fantasy starter. Instead, regard him as a fill in player who could develop into a flex role as a red zone threat.

Even if he has lost a step, with his height he shouldnt have any problem getting to the ball.
