Maybe you are doing really well, but you lost Miles Austin or Ahmad Bradshaw and you need someone to pick up the slack. Here are some players that can fill in for the time being. Andy Dalton is starting to put together effective weekends that are great bye week fill in numbers. He will get the chance to prove himself at home versus the Steelers who just gave up a big game to Joe Flacco. Carson Palmer has some nice targets to throw to and he has great chances each week to throw for a lot of yards. He will get his chance to gain some momentum against the Chargers this weekend. Maurice Morris is going up against a tough Chicago defense, but Morris will get a chance of getting around 20 touches this weekend. The Lions are ready to move on from Jahvid Best's injuries and know that Keiland Williams is not the answer so Morris will get more chances to rack up yards. Roy Helu is a scary name to say because of Mike Shanahan. Shanahan can not be trusted by any fantasy owner, but Helu looks like a versatile back, catching 14 passes last weekend. Going against the Miami Dolphins is any running backs dream, for Helu he will have holes to hit this weekend. Laurent Robinson will be a good fill in for about a month with Miles Austin out for that time. When Austin was out the first time Robinson had some decent games that helped a lot of fantasy owners. Joshua Cribbs is stepping up his game the past couple of weekends and he will run all over the Rams lack luster defense. With injuries to their wide receiving crew Cribbs is ready to get more throws his way. Jake Ballard is starting to open eyes as a top tight end. If you need a tight end to get some looks, he is your guy. This weekend will probably make or break your potential for the playoffs. If you are looking for a fill in for a hurt player take one of these players and don’t look back. |

| Palmer did well, but Dalton has a bad matchup. I can't see that ending well for him. Concerning Helu, find the least likely RB on the roster to put up points this week and start him, because that's how Shanahan rolls :P | |

| The Dolphins struggle against dual threat running backs. Helu is a great pass catcher and he will give them fits this weekend. He will be a solid RB2 this weekend. | |

| "Going against the Miami Dolphins is any running back's dream." Other than their poor record, what reason do you have, Dave, for saying this? Consider these facts. 1) The Dolphins have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season (ESPN Standard League rules). 2) The Dolphins have allowed the sixth-lowest yards per attempt this season (3.8). 3) The Dolphins have allowed only three rushing TDs this season -- the same total as the vaunted Ravens defence. | |
