Week 17 is a crazy week to have a championship weekend, but it seems as most players will be playing, the question is, how long? Here are some players you can start this weekend and see solid results from. Matt Flynn is probably going to start and play the whole game. The Packers have the number 1 seed all wrapped up and don’t need to play Aaron Rodgers. Insert Flynn who will have all the wide receivers at his disposal. Look for a big game out of Flynn and ride home with a victory. Josh McCown is getting the start again. Just a couple weeks ago he was throwing dodge balls at kids in P.E. class, now he’s starting for the Bears. Shows you how pathetic the Bears are, but also how going up against a terrible Vikings secondary could really help McCown’s fantasy numbers. Toby Gerhart is starting for the Vikings and has proven that he can handle the workload. He will do that again this weekend going up against the Bears that have nothing to play for and might rest their starters. Donald Brown is going to get a lot of carries for the Colts and they are going up against a terrible Jaguars defense. The Colts will do their best not to win and even if they are down I see them focusing on running the ball. Doug Baldwin will cap off his solid rookie season with a bang. He will be going up against one of the leagues worst pass defenses in Arizona. Baldwin is a nice possession receiver that should get about 10 looks this weekend. James Jones is going to get a lot of playing time with Greg Jennings and the Packers wanting to rest Jordy Nelson. He has blazing speed, okay hands, and should be getting a lot of targets this weekend. That is a combo for success. Jared Cook finally showed up and had a weekend that all of us knew he would have one day. He will do it again against the Texans. The Texans have a solid defense, but they will be resting up for the playoffs. Good luck on your money weekend and remember that week 17 is a no name weekend where a lot of bench warmers will get their shot to light it up. |
