Saints Add Another RB in Julius Jones

Julius Jones didn't have to spend too much time waiting for another team to pick him up after being released by the Seahawks. The Saints snagged him to add another option to their running game.

Signing Jones generates a lot of questions for fantasy owners. The move seems to signal that the Saints aren't satisfied with their backup situation with carries being split by Ladell Betts and rookie Chris Ivory. Each back got 10 carries last week and Betts edged out Ivory with 44 yards, but had a critical fumble that led to an Arizona TD and contributed to the loss.

The move could also indicate that Pierre Thomas still may not be healthy enough to return.

Fantasy Outlook:
Jones has not been a viable fantasy back for some time now and it's definitely not a positive sign that he was dropped by a team whose leading rusher has a season high game of only 65 yards.

With Ivory and Betts still in the mix, I couldn't recommend taking a flyer out on him until we see how the Saints use him. At this time, I couldn't comfortably start any of the three.
