Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren said rookie QB Brandon Weeden must earn the team's starting job this season; he'll still have to beat out QBs Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace for the job. 'We drafted a young quarterback that we think can come in and play right away, but we're not just going to hand him the football,' Holmgren said. 'I still love Colt McCoy (but) we had a chance to get a mature quarterback who has a chance to come in and contribute right away. Whether that happens or not we have to let it play out.' | ||

The Cleveland Browns could opt to keep QB Colt McCoy as the No. 2 quarterback this year behind QB Brandon Weeden. 'That could be a difficult situation except if it is ever going to work, it will work if that happens, because Colt McCoy is a special young man,' said president Mike Holmgren, who picked McCoy in the third round in 2010. 'Of course he wants to play, they all want to play. Again, nothing has been done yet, we don't know how it is going to sort itself out.'
