Saints | Four Pro Bowl alternates named: New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said Wednesday, Dec. 28, that FB Jed Collins, SS Roman Harper, FS Malcolm Jenkins and P Thomas Morstead were each named as alternates for the Pro Bowl.

Saints | Jed Collins, John Gilmore might block more: New Orleans Saints FB Jed Collins and TE John Gilmore might be used as blockers to help out the offensive line more, as the team lost TE David Thomas (concussion) for the season. The two filled in when Thomas was sidelined earlier in the season.

Saints | Bigger players see most extensive playing time: The New Orleans Saints used their 'Tank and Jumbo' sets more in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. That means TE John Gilmore, FB Jed Collins, FB Korey Hall and OT/TE Pat McQuistan saw their most extensive playing time of the season. Collins even scored a rushing touchdown. Gilmore saw a season-high 36 snaps, while Collins was in on 46 of the team's 75 offensive snaps.
