| : Seahawks | Russell Wilson discusses decision-making Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson ranked fourth among quarterbacks in rushing attempts last season, but he's more of a scrambler than pure runner, according to ESPN.com writer Mike Sando. He led the NFL in time spent in the pocket per pass play (3.12 seconds) and average time before passing (4.18 seconds). Wilson received more opportunities to run late in the season, when Seattle incorporated read-option plays on offense. Sando doesn't recall Wilson taking an especially hard hit other than one against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14. In a conversation on ESPN Radio show 'Mike & Mike,' Wilson commented on how he views his responsibilities when on the move: 'To be honest with you, I don't really like running. I'd rather throw the ball to guys and let the true playmakers make the plays. ...' Wilson may put extra stress on his offensive line, but he's certainly a dynamic passer who has succeeded in the face of plenty of adversity. It'll be interesting to see if he can continue to produce touchdowns at such a prolific rate without accumulating more yards, either in the air or on the ground, in 2013. | |
